My first project at Ment is the Southshore Residence. A down to stud remodel of an existing 1960’s ranch. The basement and first floor footprint was all that remained of the original structure. Half of the existing garage slab sits inside the front setback and the mass of the new structure is constrained by setbacks on all four sides. The bulk of my work on this project was spent with the Lake Oswego Municipal code. As a site with sloped topography the hip-roof was essential in bringing us under the height limit.
